Earth Day April 22

Today is earth day. I wish I could participate with the people who are rallying and demonstrating in every community about awareness to our planet earth. All I can do is post a message in this blog site. I can only show photos on how my community is keeping its share to keep the environment clean.

A very pretty front yard. Most of the houses in my neighborhood have this scenery during spring time. This flowers stay for one week at most. We have to enjoy this view and take advantage of it for we have to wait another 52 weeks to see this scenery again.

Another sign that spring is here. Young leaves start coming out from the tree. We are so lucky this cycle happens every year. In other part of the world such as Moldova, they have drought for four years. Some countries cannot grow crops because of abnormal weather pattern.

We are not exempted from pollution as seen from the trash hanging on the tree. I guess not everybody are so concern about keeping the environment clean. But I would say that pollution is not rampant here.

This is another view of the trash on the tree. Basically, the surrounding area is still clean. We just keep pollution as minimal as possible.

Proof of this are bunch of trash cans at the backyard in one of the houses here. One is for garbage, another is for plastic and bottle recycling, the other one is for paper, and the rest are for trash and yard grass and bush cuttings.

A peach tree by the shed.

But this warm paradise in Northern Samar is unspoiled, unexplored and untouched. This is what Earth Day is all about. We longed for a place to retire, where the air is fresh, the sea is pristine and clean, the beach is uncrowded and unpolutted. We can find this in Northern Samar. It maybe spring now in the USA but it is always summer in warm paradise, in Northern Samar. The day is balmy and the night is cool. Come and live with us. We keep this place clean. Help to influence the local folks and the government to keep this place as virgin as possible.
News report about health of beaches around the world
This just came out from Yahoo News: ” Group finds 6 million pounds of trash on world’s beaches ” By H. JOSEF HEBERT, Associated Press Writer . Please visit the link (if it is still not broken): http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080415/ap_on_re_us/beach_debris
Of the 33,000 miles of shoreline scoured by volunteers worldwide 6 millions pounds of garbage and debris have been found. The notorious debris dumper is the United States whose volunteers collect a ratio of 390 pounds of trash every mile. This is followed by Mexico with 157 pounds per mile. Bahrain has 300 pounds but only 1 mile has been covered. China, a big economic powerhouse and a potential major polluter has only 65 pounds of trash per mile found on its beaches and shorelines. Congratulation! But the Chinese has little shorelines compared to the Philippines.
Philippines has shorelines and beaches 3 times longer than the USA. Philippines is not included in the survey. Some factors maybe because there are no volunteers, the Ocean Conservancy body consider the condition of our beaches at an acceptable level, or it is just impossible to get a consensus in our country. Nevertheless, I would say that majority of the Philippines shorelines and beaches are pristine, unspoiled and unexplored. If you visit www.warmparadise.com you see pictures of beaches littered with organic debris only. This is what I been promoting to the retirees around the world. Visit the Philippines, come to Northern Samar and see nature at its best, untouched by civilization. Our province is 3500 square kilometers inhabited by half million people only. We are poor so who would litter food wrapper on the beach. We have no money, not a dime to buy a stick of cigarette so who would throw cigarette butt on the pristine water. Well, our poverty maybe an exaggeration. We are not really that poor. The national road in our province is all concrete, we have an airport with 3 flights to and from Manila, our infrastructures are all in good condition but more importantly, we have friendly people in our province. So come and visit us. You will still see unspoiled beaches here, pristine shorelines around the province of Northern Samar.

Hello everyone and thank you for your patronage of www.warmparadise.com. We continue to advocate the green environment. Save the planet as they say. To retire in Paradise Village is to be environmentally friendly also. We have the unspoiled, clean development in the Philippines so far. We want to keep it this way. In connection with this, I would like to bring you to the avenue of fuel efficiency effort. I thought this might raise awareness to our usage with gas for our cars. I was in the New York International Auto Show on March 21-30, 2008. I have made a website about that visit. I also expressed my insights regarding the alternative fuels for the future. Please visit www.alternativefuel.ws. Sorry this is not dotcom (.com) anymore but dotws (.ws) Somebody took the .com ahead of me. I hope he/she uses that website for a greater cause. At anyrate, I am in the early stage of developing www.alternativefuel.ws. Please visit often so you will get the whole picture of what the auto show is all about, my interest in alternative fuel, and our effort (humanity as a whole) to curb green house gasses and to leave the planet earth to our children with more green to it.
